Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
Text Gen 1:26 Ideally, God’s thought that brought man into existence predisposed him to be a steward to begin with. As a matter of fact on the account of this text, man is created to be not less than steward and to exercise dominion over that which God allowed him to.
After creation, God pronounced HIS intentions to man. Vs. 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.
” Vs. 29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground— everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so. It is God who gave first. He gave everything or “all” to man. It’s God that gives.
You and I are essentially stewards of God’s estate. “If one loses this tenet spiritual fact, then he/she is destined to a life of spiritual imbalances”. My brethren and sisters opt for a balanced spiritual life by acknowledging the fact that you are a steward of God’s creation and none belongs to you including yourself. You don’t belong to yourself! You belong to God! God bless us as we take this fact.
