Scope – in terms of new operational activities requiring a change of analysis purchase or disposal of subsidiaries change in reporting/operational structures SunPlus delivers this flexibility through its multi-dimensional analysis capability.

When a particular transaction is created in SunPlus, a series of flags are attached to it to provide analysis. These flags are user definable and cover transaction-specific analysis dimensions such as who (employee), organizations or project codes; together with static analysis dimensions such as class or region.

For each transaction – whether a purchase invoice, inventory movement or an accounts journal – the user can define numerous static analysis flags and ten transactional flags.

SunPlus reputation for flexibility comes from the way the dimensions are generated and used. Each one is created and maintained independently of each other and of the customer, supplier, P&L or balance sheet account setup. The two are linked together through a particular transaction process. In addition, the dimensions don’t need to be defined from day one of installation – they can be added as the system grows.

SunPlus enables managers to control their organization by delivering financial information that can be analyzed in great detail. Importantly, the different dimensions of organizational activity can be reflected without having to prescribe a data relationship in advance, which means that the dimensions analyzed can change over time. The end result is that SunPlus is uniquely flexible but without adding implementation complexity.

The power of SunPlus analysis

After creating a number of transactions, SunPlus builds a financial database. Once a financial database has been created, SunPlus’s report management suite can then report on an activity by flexibly selecting relationships between business dimensions. By storing information in this way and giving users the ability to report in any way they want, financial data becomes the basis for decision support throughout the organization.
